MORNING JOURNAL DESCRIPTION
Regardless of your view on religion or Christianity, studies show the benefits of starting each morning in a quiet atmosphere and meditating on important life issues. This habit centers and quiets the mind. This is vitally important no matter what you are facing in life, but if you are trying to beat the battle on addiction it is even more important to establish this habit early. Relaxing your mind and addressing issues in your life that are often pushed aside, because they are painful or difficult, is the most beneficial thing you can do for yourself. Sleep will improve. Emotions improve. The physical body improves when we spend time in the quiet, focusing on the things that really matter. The rest of the day is busy and loud. Start the day right and prepare yourself for what the day may bring.
It is usually difficult to be alone and with your thoughts in the beginning. Over time, it becomes a new healthy addiction. Reading the Bible clarifies the issues many of us think about. During your time in the program, each morning, read the Bible, write your memory verse and pray or be still.
