Those that choose to improve their lives are forced, in many occasions, to leave their pets behind. We dont want anything to stand in the way of someone's healing. Whether a member lives on campus or off campus, we offer a free place for the animals to stay during the day. Animals are like family to many, so the pets are welcome.
With climate controlled, state-of-the-art facilities, Carpe Vitam Institute offers a dog daycare and Cat Cafe for the members of each program. We provide an indoor/outdoor, enjoyable experience for dogs and cats.
Drop off any time during the day. While you’re focusing on healing, your pet will be cared for in a safe, respectful, loving environment. Our staff is well trained and have the experience to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Dogs:
We group dogs into two play areas to ensure safe, compatible play. The dogs are separated into two play groups based on temperament, size, age, personality and other factors. Every dog is assigned a primary playgroup.
We actively manage our playgroups to engage the dogs. Our daycare schedule is structured to provide specific times for daycare tested toys, snacks, walks and even nap time. Naps are key to manage the arousal level of the playgroups and to prevent over stimulation.
Note: All dogs that come to daycare or boarding are required to be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.
Cats:
Many professionals recognize that cats have varying preferences when it comes to socializing. Some cats enjoy the company of others, while others may need lots of space. We have space for solo toy time, one-on-one human interaction, or private windowside perches to bird-watch in peace. For the social ones, we introduce cats with similar temperaments in supervised sessions to chase wand toys, interact with puzzles, or explore communal climbing gyms. We customize based on personality assessments, ensuring that each cat feels comfortable, stimulated, and relaxed.
We understand that introducing cats to new environments, and to each other, requires delicacy. Safe introduction protocols are essential.
Separate intake areas for new arrivals
Scent-swapping before any face-to-face meetups
Gradual exposure to new play zones and companions
Quiet, isolated spaces for introverted or older cats
These practices prevent stress for the cats, allowing cats to adjust slowly and confidently.
We perform a tolerance test on all the animals. Some are not a good fit to mingle with the other animals. We offer kennels for those pets. We want to ensure the pet owner's that those in the kennels are not neglected, they are continually evaluated and monitored.
