Building the Dream: Our 4-Year Campus Roadmap

The Carpe Vitam Institute (CVI) is growing from a vision of healing into a world-class therapeutic sanctuary. To ensure our growth is grounded in financial sustainability, clinical excellence, and deep community trust, we have mapped out a strategic four-year development plan.

Year 1: Foundation & Governance

Theme: Establishing our roots and building the framework for sustainable growth.

Our initial focus is building a rock-solid organizational infrastructure, securing key leadership, and establishing immediate philanthropic avenues.

• Fiscal Sponsorship: Partnering with an established umbrella non-profit to accept tax-deductible gifts and grants immediately while independent status processes.
  
  

• Founding Board Assembly: Recruiting a dedicated Board of Directors spanning expertise in mental health, non-profit law, real estate development, and finance.
  
  

• Independent 501(c)(3) Status: Filing Form 1023 with the IRS to secure CVI’s standalone non-profit tax-exempt status.
  
  

• Seed Capital Campaign: Raising initial funding to support program design, site selection feasibility, and legal groundwork.
  
  

Year 2: Outpatient Launch & Land Acquisition

Theme: Proving our clinical impact and securing the space to grow.

Before breaking ground on our residential campus, CVI will begin serving the community immediately through an accessible outpatient model.

• Outpatient Center Launch: Opening our first leased location to provide outpatient therapy, group sessions, and holistic wellness support.
  
  

• Property Acquisition: Securing the land for the future Carpe Vitam Campus, complete with environmental and zoning approvals.
  
  

• Transition to Independent 501(c)(3): Moving fully under CVI’s official tax-exempt designation to expand major grant eligibility.
  
  

• Capital Campaign Pre-Launch: Engaging major donors, foundations, and key community leaders for the campus build fund.
  
  

Year 3: Campus Groundbreaking & Civil Infrastructure

Theme: Laying the groundwork and rising from the foundation.

With clinical operations thriving and land secured, physical development begins on the flagship campus.

• Official Groundbreaking: Hosting our campus launch ceremony with local leaders, supporters, and clinical partners.
  
  

• Infrastructure & Site Preparation: Installing utilities, roadways, eco-friendly landscaping, and core civil systems.
  
  

• Vertical Construction (Phase 1): Building primary structures, including the central administrative facilities, outpatient suites, and core residential spaces.
  
  

• Outpatient Expansion: Scaling outpatient services to meet growing demand and prepare for seamless continuity of care on the main campus.
  
  

Year 4: Completion, Licensing & Grand Opening

Theme: Opening our doors to transform lives.

The final year focuses on fine-tuning internal operations, securing top-tier accreditations, and welcoming our first residential cohorts.

• Facility Fit-Outs: Outfitting therapeutic spaces, residential quarters, and wellness amenities with purpose-built design.
  
  

• State Licensing & Accreditation: Undergoing state health audits and securing national behavioral health credentials (such as Joint Commission or CARF).
  
  

• Clinical & Campus Operations Staffing: Onboarding our full-time residential staff, medical personnel, and facilities teams.
  
  

• Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting: Unveiling the Carpe Vitam Institute Campus to the public and opening our doors to those seeking renewal.
